OBJECTIVE: To determine the influence of the quality of family relationship on the level of sensitivity to domestic violence among first year medical students

DESIGN: Descriptive correlational

SETTING: Cebu Doctors College of Medicine

PARTICIPANTS: 118 First year medical students enrolled for 1st-2nd semester 1998-1999

MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Significance of correlation between the two variables of the study, quality of family relationship and sensitivity to domestic violence

RESULTS: Ninety percent of the respondents have good quality of family relationship, and majority of them (96.6%) had a high level of sensitivity to domestic violence (p0.05)

CONCLUSION: The quality of students family relationship does not exert any influence on their level of sensitivity to domestic violence.
