This is a study of 27 cases diagnosed as APCD upon discharge from six hospitals in Cebu City giving a relative occurrence of 1 per 1,000 among infants admitted to these six hospitals. The most common signs and symptoms were related to bleeding tendencies, seizures, apnea and poor suck. The identified factors that may be considered significant prognostic determinants of the disease are the site of hemorrhage; with intracranial bleeding as the most important, manifestations of seizures and acuteness and severity of symptoms that warrant the hospitalization of the patient.
