Human Resource for Health Network (HRHN) a7 pages. aPolicy briefs ;vno. 13 aThe outmigration of Filipino human resources for health (HRH) calls for policy responses and implementation to achieve the production of an adequate number of qualified health professionals that can serve the Philippine public and private health care systems, as well as meet the international demand. The HRHN Technical Working Group on Entry recognizes the policies already formulated and the mandates of concerned national agencies to address persistent policy issues in the education and training of health professionals and workers. But there is a need for effective implementation, monitoring and evaluation. The TWG on Entry proposes that clear administrative and operational policies be formulated to monitor and evaluate competency standards in the curriculum and training programs of institutions, in the licensure examinations, and the programs’ relevance to the health care service sector. To offset the outflow of Filipino health professionals, the TWG on Entry proposes policy alternatives on foreign nationals’ medical residency in the Philippines, national service in health, scholarship programs and ladderized training programs, to ensure quantity and quality of health workers. 2aHealth Workforce 2aMigration and Immigration aPolicy Brief aHealth Human Resource uhttp://elibrary.doh.gov.ph/cgi-bin/koha/opac-retrieve-file.pl?id=1e1ca37957029df145518584e7aab72a 2nlmcJA
