520 3# - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. A 38 year old G10 P8 (0-8-1-0) with a history of eight intrauterine fetal deaths occurring at 20 to 28 weeks gestational age and concommitant right renal artery occlusion was initially seen at 23 3/7 weeks age of gestation. Renovascular hypertension was assessed as atypical and not severe enough to cause recurrent fetal death, so that work up for other etiologic causes including anti-phospholipid syndrome, was made. Inspite of close monitoring and rigid management, severe fetal growth retardation developed with resultant fetal death. The value of early diagnosis and corrective management to be able to reasonably aim for a successful pregnancy after recurrent fetal loss is emphasized.
