The hypopharyngeal mass was initially managed with local excision but a recurrence was noted after eight months. The second operation done was a wide excision via a transport approach. Adjuvant radiotherapy was given. The patient has so far received a total of 5000 rads with no note of recurrence two months postoperatively.
